5-27-20 THOUGHTS

I’m thinking about my response to being blessed this morning.  If I have been blessed (count your many blessings Phil)...  What should be my response?  Heart, Lips, Life?  All?  The daily Jewish prayer again comes to mind...    "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.”   Deut 6:5   it’s the “ALL CLAUSE” that is concerning.
Rom 12:1    Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, [which is] your spiritual service of worship.
The living sacrifice we call Phil has a tendency to crawl off the altar.
we go to the Psalmist for some help.

Ps 40:1-10    I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me and heard my cry. 2  He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm. 3  He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God;  [this is revival]   Many will see and fear And will trust in the LORD. 4  How blessed is the man who has made the LORD his trust, And has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood. 5  Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders which You have done, And Your thoughts toward us; There is none to compare with You. If I would declare and speak of them, They would be too numerous to count. 6   Sacrifice and meal offering You have not desired; My ears You have opened; Burnt offering and sin offering You have not required. [compare Heb 10:5-20]    7  Then I said, "Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me. 8  I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart." 9  I have proclaimed glad tidings of righteousness in the great congregation; Behold, I will not restrain my lips, O LORD, You know. 10  I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have spoken of Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great congregation.

David notes great and forever blessings for the Lord, then beginning with verse 8, he speaks of “open ears”, a delight to respond because God’s law is in his heart.  Then a great lesson for us in some key words...  Proclaimed, not restrained my lips, not hidden your righteousness within my heart, I have spoken, I have not concealed.
What a lesson for me and for you as we look forward to being together again.
It will be A NEW BEGINNING if each of us provides his/her part.
Eph 4:16    from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

My Prayer:
Lord, you bless us so continually and abundantly.  The gift of your dear Son is enough, but you give us so much more over and over.  Give our hearts depth, that we may rise above every day life and abide with you of God!  Help us to always see your awesome goodness and help us respond with an ever growing love.  Help us to be thrilled with the joy of responding.
In the name of blessed Jesus                         Amen
